There are only six breweries in the world connected to religious orders that have the right to brew so called "trappist beer" - strong ale with characteristic flavor brewed by the Trappist monks of Belgium and the Netherlands.

This type of beer always matures in the bottle and usually contains a larger amount of residual sugar. It should be formally served at room temperature in a traditional wide goblet.
